Southern district of Kangwondo, belonging to Kangwon Land suffered from severe damage due to Typhoon Rusa and Mammy which swept out Korean peninsula in 2002 and 2003 and Kangwon Land employees have participated in volunteerism for restoration of the damage in this district for a specified period, while supporting daily indispensables by fund-raising.

In order to systemize these sporadic activities, social volunteerism activity was started in April, 2004 and over 400 of Kangwon Land employees spent their part of time in having an opportunity to practice the spirit of love and sharing in Welfare facility for senior citizens, branch schools, towns, study rooms and etc., in need of help until November, 2004.

Each department and individual is related to the poor, the lonely old and the boy and girl head of a family through supporting agents or voluntarily and has supported or helped them on a regular basis.

In order to carry out more wide contribution activities for community and enhance tie with the district, all departments of Kangwon Land held the ceremony of establishment of sorority combined with 4 cities and Kuns in Southern Kangwon district, establishing relationship with them and becoming united with the district and pledging their new start.

In the future, we will continuously improve and maintain the contents, to make people understanding Kangwon Land volunteerism activities and make it as a field for participation in practicing contribution activities.
